GEOGRAPHY

Conca de Barberà is a region located in the northern part of the Catalonian province of Tarragona. Average elevation ranges between 350 and 900 meters, creating the perfect conditions to make light, fresh wines.

VITICULTURAL PRODUCTION AREA

We grow grapes in an area that has been carved out by the erosive action of the Anguera and Francolí Rivers.

SOILS

Generally rich in lime, the soils in the central part of the Conca de Barberà region can also contain clay. There are river terraces underneath the soil’s surface and there is slate at our region’s westernmost end.

CLIMATE

We enjoy a transitional climate, given our proximity to both the Mediterranean and the neighboring province of Lleida, which has a continental climate. Damp winds blow through our region and lower elevations can see frost.

RAINFALL AND TEMPERATURE

Rainfall usually ranges between 450 and 550 mm per year. Temperatures can swing below 0ºC or as high as 35ºC, but the average temperature hovers around 14ºC.
