HISTORY

The Cellar Vega Aixalà was founded from the aspirations of the family with the same name in 2004 in Vilanova de Prades. It was in that year when the family together with the collaboration of Martí Magriñà (enologist) decided to start this project and started to plant vines and love the land and the entire world of wine.

The vineyards which give this extraordinary fruit are located between 800 and 900 meters above the sea level in slate soil in the middle of a wonderful landscape, between la Serra de Prades and la Serra la Llena, and in front of Montsant Mountains.

It is important to remark that due to the height and the continental weather of the area it is possible to achieve  100% ecological agriculture.

The red grape varieties we can find, among others, are: Red Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. And the white ones: Chardonnay and White Grenache.

The main purpose of this Cellar is the utmost delicate and respectful work with the product in the Winery: manual harvest in little boxes, gravity treatment, fermentation in cement vats and uses minimum technological treatments.
