History
This co-operative is the product of the fusion of two entities that formed in Solivella in the beginning of the XX Century: “La Sociedad” (The Society) in 1901, that later was named “Sociedad de Trabajadores Agrícolas de Solivella” (The Solivella Agricultural Workers Society) in 1906, and“El Sindicato Agrícola” (The Agricultural Syndicate) in 1916. They joined June 1st, 1937 under the name “Sindicato Agrícola de Solivella (The Solivella Agricultural Syndicate) and three years later, in 1940, they receive the name they have today. We are, therefore, a centenary entity.
Today it has 14 vessels, two destined for controlled temperature fermentation of musts and for wine storage, one only for wine storage, and the last one is where the grapes are received and pressed. We also have exterior tubs for the elaboration mainly of rose and red wines.
In present day, the co-operative is equipped and conditioned with the most modern machinery and oenologic techniques. The winery processes an average of 5 million kilos of grapes per harvest. It has four pneumatic presses, a container capacity for fermentation of 21,860 hl and a vacuum filter for cleaning that can absorb 200,000 l per day.
