History
In Montblanc, the capitol of Conca de Barberà, full of history and incomparable tradition, we elaborate the PONT VELL cava, following the same tradition of our ancestors.
COSTUMS
This local setting, marked by long extensions of vineyards, architecture and a medieval environment, impregnates its population and daily life, and is reflected in our character, way of working and customs. We, at Montblanc, through many centuries, have dedicated our lives to carefully cultivating the vines that supply the caldos that make one of the most select cavasof theConca de Barberà region.
COLLECTIVE
Since 1919, the year the Vine Growing Co-operative of Montblanc was created, we have been working proudly in the elaboration of an artisan cava, product of a demanding, laborious and tenacious collective.
GENUINE
The PONT VELL cava is a genuine product of our land which has been raised, elaborated and bottled according to ancestral knowledge and wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation. The optimum climate conditions that we enjoy in Conca de Barberà, typical of the Mediterranean continental climate, together with the knowledge of traditional technique, allows us to achieve a quality product.
ELABORATION AND MATURITY
The contrast between night and day make the maturing of the vineyards slow, prolongs the elaboration cycles and models the aroma of our cavas. Afterwards, during nine months, these excellent cavas settle in our cellars, until achieving the maturity necessary to see the light.
This way, from the best macabeo and parellada vines, we obtain the PONT VELL cava, in Semi, Brut and Brute Nature varieties that can satisfy the best and most demanding palate.
