History The winery is the work of the modernist architect César Martinell. It can be considered one more of the “wine cathedrals” that adorns Conca de Barberà. The building presents impressive pointed arches and it has three vessels. The turret of the water deposit, of the year 1948, constructed with bare bricks, is the is the tip of a job well done that constitutes the Rocafort wine cathedral. Today, the co-operative has 126 members. 17 years ago the commercialisation of the “Les Tres Naus” cava began, which meant the modernisation of the co-operative, incorporating cold processing equipment, stainless steel tubs, controlled fermentation process and, later, the vacuum filter. From Sarral y Rocafort de Queralt Sarral has international recognition and fame thanks to its alabaster artistry. Various workshops make decorative pieces and the attractive Alabaster Museum make this hand crafting tradition known and the opportunity to work it. In Rocafort de Queralt, interesting itineraries can be carried out towards Conesa and Forés, towards Piles and Biure, or towards Santa Coloma de Queralt. They are journeys where it is easy to discover medieval remains of churches, chapels, walls and castles, surrounded by a soft landscape with splendid panoramic views. |
