The Regulating Council applies strict quality control for the vintage qualification of Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin wines. During each campaign, the different wine batches elaborated by the registered wineries are submitted to official chemical analysis and tasting by a team of experts that must be passed to obtain and hold the qualification of “Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin” wine.
Through a system of magnetic personal cards for each vine grower, the Regulating Council also controls the reception of the grapes in each one of the wineries that elaborate Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin wine, where a terminal that gathers information (owner, kg, variety, grade, acidity...) is installed.
At the end of the grape harvest, the plenary of the Regulating
Council meets to decide the global qualification that the year’s
harvest deserve
