In general, we can speak about a Mediterranean climate of transition between the coast – given the relative proximity to the sea, softer and typical of the Tarragona region – and the continental, more rigid, cold in the winter and hot in the summer, typical of the Lérida region.
The modest altitude of the Miramar mountain range and the Riba strait allow a certain influence from the humid and warm sea winds, but, on the other hand, the marked winter thermic inversions accentuate frost in the deep parts of the region. All this makes for a cold winter and very hot summers, with a noticeable thermic differential between night and day.
The annual rain fall is of 450-550 mm, with the following season regime from the most to least rainfall: autumn-spring-summer-winter.

In reference to temperatures, the annual average is between 13 and 14 ºC, with highs in the summer that can exceed 35 ºC, and lows in the winter that frequently can be below 0 ºC. The received insolation is around 2,500 h/year. .
