History
TheSans Travé vineyard is situated close to the Forès route, the highest part of the municipality of Solivella, in the Conca de Barberà Designation of Origin. There are more than 20 hectares of vineyard planted in red clay soil which strengthens the intensity of the red wine and the transparency of the white wine.
The winery is in the Cal Gasset, our family home where our ancestors already treated musts in the middle of the XIX Century. This tradition, together with our knowledge and modern techniques, allows us to elaborate the wines and cavas that we present here.
The old town café and dinner – Cal Travé –has been transformed by us during the last 30 years into a modern restaurant where we prepare the dishes that combine old country cuisine of Conca with modern Catalonian cuisine.
Our elders already cultivated, day to day, these lands when the ploughing was done with a mule that would open the furrows. Now, we continue to work with the youngest ones the same lands, but we now have cultivating machinery that allows us to have more care and guarantee the continuity of the taste in our wines and foods of the region. The more that hundred-yearl-old holm oak that resides in theses vineyards is a symbol of our history.
