History

The link that the Andreu family has with the vineyard dates back to the XVIII Century, when its cultivation started in Mas del Celdoni de Forès. Today, the family owns eighty hectares of the vineyard in Conca. In 1991, Carles Andreu, continuing the family tradition, launched the cava that has his name, located in the old home of the Celdoni family in the town of Pira.

In April 2004, Carles Andreu inaugurated his new installations in the same town, which meant the restoration of old Celdoni farmyards and lime warehouses, the excavation and construction of an underground cellar, the plantation of vineyards in the surroundings and the preparation of a viewpoint situated over the narrow pass of the Anguera river passing through Pira.

The new winery has an underground cellar, an elaboration zone, a laboratory, warehouses, offices, a tasting and sampling hall, and a reception and sales area.

Soon it will also have a vineyard and wine interpretation centre, with the help of audiovisuals, panels and the old utensils that were used to cultivate the vineyard, it will explain to the visitor the process of the vine cultivation and the elaboration of the wine and cava.
