History
Cava Simó de Palau is produced
in l’Espluga de Francolí, in the region of Conca
de Barberà, a land with a great wine-producing tradition.
Contrary to the land that takes us
in, this cava takes its name from one of the founders of this
town: Simó de Palau, viscount of Bas, descendant of Hug
de Cervera.
Not only the name, Simó
de Palau, has an ancient story, but also the country house where
our wine cellars are located in: Molí de Poca. Its origin
goes back to the 12th century, when the Cerveras granted Arnau
Moltó the exclusive permission for the construction of
the mills on this land, where the vineyards were already cultivated
for wine production in that time. |
