History
Conca de Barberà is an agricultural region dedicated eminently to the cultivation of vines. The first vines were brought from France by the cister monks that came to the Poblet Monastery. The qualities of the region for vineyard cultivation made its diffusion rapid and, with the exemption of the obligatory parenthesis because of the phylloxera plague, its cultivation hasbeen permanent until today.
Rosa Maria Torres’s vineyards are situated in the municipal districts of Sarral and Barberà de la Conca. The110 hectares of the property make it unnecessary to buy grapes from other vineyards for the elaboration of our wines. The selection of the raw material is controlled from by our oenologists, guaranteeing optimum quality.
The vineyard has been cultivating for over 100 years. In the last 20 it has undergone a considerable transformation, since the last vines have been planted, enriching our traditional varieties with imported ones from France. This way, we want to satisfy the wine demand that nourish today the base of the international market. cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, pinot noir, syrah, Chardonnay and viognier are the grape varieties incorporated in our plantations for elaborating red, white and rose wine and cava. The adaptation of these vines has been spectacular, achieving wines of optimum quality.
Various generations have been dedicated to the cultivation of the vineyards and the elaboration of our wines. Nowadays, Rosa Maria Torres S.L. is a family managed company, how it has always been.
The application of modern techniques, together with experience and the tradition inherited from our ancestors, makes the quality of our product maintain an ascending line, how it has always been in our family history until today. The quality of our product is endorsed year after year by the loyalty of our clients, that, from most of the European countries, have decided to form part of our list of friends.
